THE OPPORTUNE ROUTES OF HISTORY. HERITAGE AND TOURISM IN THE CENTER OF SALTILLO
Keywords:
urban heritage, city brand, tourismAbstract
The main objective of this research is to deepen the reflection on the differences found in the promotion and dissemination of the architectural heritage of the Historic Center of the city of Saltillo, Coahuila; which arises from establishing a discursive confrontation between tourism and the production or consolidation of the city brand as a purpose of reactivation and regeneration of the historic centers of the country. A comparative analysis is carried out where the patrimonial architecture of the site is related and superimposed with respect to the objects incorporated in the tourist agenda, by means of a registry of information of the architectural elements in a cartographic platform, similarities and discordances are identified, which are represented graphically to exhibit location and buildings descriptive qualities. As a result, the simulation of the tourist route is obtained, which conveniently disregards other real estate of heritage value, which evidently produces disadvantages for the permanence and maintenance of the constructions of heritage value that build the urban imaginary and strengthen the factors of local identity.
