LAND USE VERSUS ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE IN URBAN PLANNING IN THE HISTORIC CENTER OF CULIACÁN

This document aims to show the most relevant historical stages in which the architectural heritage of the city of Culiacán has been compromised, due to changes in land use; what has been the impact from the first urban and architectural interventions, to the urban planning exercises, in the conservation of one of the most important heritage areas of the city: the historic center. The analysis begins with a count in the disposition of the use of the land, before and after the founding date of the city, continuing with the occupation of the land and both urban and architectural conformation of the central area; continuing with the management of the soil in one of the stages of greatest transformation and growth: the time of the Porfiriato, and with it, reveal the first affectations to the architectural heritage. It also addresses the approach of the first formal urban planning exercises in the city and what were the repercussions on the architectural heritage, as a result; finally, and derived from this analysis, the causes of the current situation of the architectural heritage are identified, due to changes in land use.
