Abstract

This article analyzes the urban intervention carried out by different state and municipal governments in two central neighborhoods of the city of San Luis Potosí: San Miguelito and San Sebastián, located in the vicinity of the Historic Center, whose renovation was planned as a rescue strategy for revitalizing the area. The objective of the paper is to describe and analyze a set of neighborhood experiences related to those interventions that generated, on one hand, social expectations; and, on the other, phenomena such as real estate speculation, the arrival of new businesses, as well as dynamics that have transformed the meanings of the inhabited urban space.
