Abstract

This documentary research aims to show a review of the literature on the strategic management applied by Mexican tourism micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to obtain a greater amount of information about the pandemic and learn, in addition to the current state of Mexican tourism in the face of the pandemic, the ability of current MSMEs to plan strategically. To this end, the research question is the following: ¿Do Mexican tourism MSMEs implement structured strategies against COVID-19? Based on this question, a merely descriptive
documentary research is carried out through a compilation of scientific articles, government reports and case studies, through which it was possible to obtain as a result an inventory of strategies that tourism MSMEs have carried out during the start and development of the pandemic together with an analysis about the correct or incorrect formulation of these, these results allow us to observe the lack of strategic thinking on the part of the MSMEs, since they mostly have improvised strategies and, in turn, thecomplexity of the current crisis they face.
