Keywords:
Evolution, residential tourism, CostalegreAbstract
Residential or second-home tourism is a phenomenon that has increased in recent years. A second home can be defined as a property that is not used as a primary residence; that is, it is an additional property that in most cases is intended for personal leisure, a vacation home, or as an investment. This work aims, through the historical (analytical-synthetic) method, to highlight the events that shaped the development of residential tourism in the Costalegre region of the state of Jalisco, identifying its stages and key moments, and answering the question: How has residential tourism evolved in the Costalegre? It identifies six historical periods in its development and the exponential growth of platforms for marketing second homes.
