Abstract

The popular festivals of Sergipe are studied here through cultural landscapes. The observation of the festive landscapes in the state of Sergipe has been defined as cutting, either due to the diversity of manifestations or the number of parties it produces. We pproach the parties affected by the rules of the current government, by the pandemic and by the political order of the laws enacted in the state of Sergipe. This research has been developed through procedures that prioritized access to documents and bibliographic and cartographic surveys that deepen our dialogue with researchers and authors on the subject. It is observed from the point of view of religious syncretism, the manifestations of the Christmas cycle with a strong influence of the Portuguese Catholic religion and African matrices. Knowing the cultural landscapes of Sergipe allowed us to understand the game of intertwining between the knowledge that arises from daily practices with the landscape, understanding that the practices and the objectification of the landscape have and produce
the meanings of life, of what belongs to us and of what we belong to.
