Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic generated a great impact worldwide, affecting economic and social development. The effects on the local economic situation were incalculable due to the continuation of restrictions and prevention rules persist with the processes of mass coexistence. The basic theoretical framework were the organizational adaptability and innovation, both as responses to the conditions of the sanitary contingency.
The businessmen created strategies to comply with governmental requirements to continue with the service of events and meetings. The objective of this research is to understand the transformation in the internal and external infrastructure of event halls during the pandemic as an effect on the approval of social gatherings. The study is descriptive, the temporality is transversal with data collected during May
to October 2021. A sample of 154 business, considering a 95% reliability and a 5% error by means of the finite population calculation. The data were obtained in situ; the evaluation was carried out by means of accompanied tours. The results revealed modifications to the physical infrastructure, from the parking lot,
reception, internal spaces, kitchen, bathrooms, bar, and common areas, as a form of adaptation through innovation. It is concluded that the businessmen created strategies for the benefit of their clients and their own staff, services were updated, and progress was made in the commercial activation of the meetings business.
