The Design Research Group (GID) of the Faculty of Architecture of the Technological University of Havana José Antonio Echeverría, within its program Planning and Design of Public Buildings, has explored for several courses in different architectural programs at various scales, with the use of a research methodology, designed and refined by the GID, culminating in preliminary design solutions. In response to requests from local governments and institutions, his research constitutes valid and effective instruments for the study and evaluation of solutions to real social, economic and technological problems of society. This document summarizes one of his most recent research results using the aforementioned method, developed by students as a culmination exercise and supervised by a tutor and other GID specialists. Structured in stages, after the argumentation of the needs, the definition of a theoretical-conceptual framework and the diagnosis of the starting situation, design solutions are proposed at the level of preliminary ideas, in this case of a community cultural center associated with the creative economies for an urban sector of Havana lacking cultural equipment.
