THE REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY IN THE URBAN EXTENSION OF THE TERRITORY

The real estate industry has represented being the engine of economic growth in Latin American
cities over the past forty years. This involves the construction of housing complexes, equipment
and infrastructure, extending its territory towards urban boundaries. This model of urban growth
has become widespread in the country of Mexico, so this work aims to show some of the
strategies that have been carried out for the population of the peripheral areas in each city. The
city of Culiacán, Sinaloa, is referred to as the object of study. Through an urban diagnosis, this
process of urban growth is outlined and a brief description of temporary periods of the role that
development plans and real estate companies have played to promote the extension of the
territory. In the construction of this work and through systematic observation, we realize that
gradually, the construction of housing by real estate companies prevails in urban boundaries,
defining in parallel characteristics promotion for the procurement of housing located in the
outlying areas
