THE CULTURAL AND NATURAL HERITAGE IN THE TOURIST REGION OF PUERTO VALLARTA: DYNAMICS OF THE LOCAL POPULATION IN THE TERRITORY

Abstract

ABSTRACT
This article describe some reflections on the topic of the cultural and natural heritage in the
tourist region of Puerto Vallarta and of how this one turns into an added value to the offer of the
sun and beach tourism. Tourism development offers new structural conditions, globalization of
markets, the demand for greater flexibility of the various urban-territorial processes and
environmental and socio-cultural sustainability. There are many studies and examples on the
topic in other countries, in the Mexican context is still incipient attention. It is necessary to
establish a discussion about what it means and how territory and cultural and natural heritage is
managed.
