The article analyzes metropolitan expansion and its repercussions in the peripheral regions in correlation with urban migration. It is approached from three perspectives: urban evolution in these regions, the characteristics of rural urban villages, and finally, urban immigrants in a double context: metropolitan evolution, and their actions in a village of rural origin, nowadays contemporary. The central research interest consists in the exploration of urban identities in a context of interaction constituted by diverse factors and how the city responds. Pointing out the importance it has as an entity that favors social constructions. The work is structured first with a theoretical inquiry on migration and its impact as vulnerable populations. It then addresses the subject in correspondence with the city, and concludes with the peripheral regions, spaces socioculturally isolated from the metropolis. Subsequently, it examines the urban consequences and migration in the rural urban town of San Juan de Ocotán. The study therefore provides an analysis of how the relationship between the city and the population has evolved, identifying challenges to be addressed through future research to improve urban development and to understand what is happening in specific spaces and in the metropoli.
