Sunset, Ocean and tourist sites
Abstract
The article shows as background a historical tour where the orientation is key to understanding architectures and urban planning with respect to the sun and sunlight. Although the meaning of the aligment with respect to the sunset during the equinoxes would respond in the Old Age to the seasona definition and ist relation to agricultura, for the Middle Age the light will have a symbolic load that after the Renaissance will be positioned as an design element. These contributions are incorporated as important knowledge in the coast of the Mexican Pacific for places of tourism, due to a specia location for witnessing sunset; feature that has provided identity to the Californian landscape. The article concludes with a first approcimation to the angular breadth of the sunset views in the bay of Ensenada, betting on the added value of its location with the intention of resignifying and redisigning touristic architecture.
