Abstract

An analysis is made of the transformation process of agrarian centers and their insertion into urban growth in the Metropolitan Area of Ensenada. The mechanisms, agrarian actions are distinguished and the increase in population and housing within the limits of the metropolis is quantified, as a gradual process and mechanism that has characterized the expansion of urban areas in our country as a result of the reforms. to the Agrarian Law of 1992, leading to the construction of massive housing projects or self-construction. It is discussed whether these processes are linked to the guidelines emanating from international discussion and government agendas to encourage territories that provide development conditions for cities. With the support of techniques and tools such as Geographic Information Systems, bibliographic-documentary review - statistics and field work, the areas of growth linked to real estate projects and settlements resulting from self-construction were identified within the period from 1990 to 2023. work provides updated and rigorous information to be usted not only in administration actions, but also in urban planning, necessary to review and known, as part of the planning of the Metropolitan territory.
