Abstract

The resulting interweaving between the territorial and geographical characteristics of the Sierra Madre Occidental region and the location of Cosalá, Sinaloa in it have converged in the recognition of this town as a distinguished tourist destination for at least the last two decades. Cosalá as a space of natural attraction has been an ideal enclave for the development of activities such as adventure tourism. However, after the COVID-19 pandemic, it is of
particular interest to understand how daily life was shaped by adventure tourism as a result of the former. This qualitative methodological proposal began with the development of semistructured interviews, photographic documentation, and participant observation during the temporality of a renowned adventure tourism event called Cosalazo. The results shed light on how the contradiction between the different citizens that make up an essential part of the
local dynamics in one of the greatest moments of historical uncertainty against the prevailing tourist desire represents a prevalent reality.
