CHALLENGES OF VALLE DE GUADALUPE (MEXICO) IN A SCENARIO OF UNCERTAINTY

Having Access to drinking water is vital for the health of all human beings, just as having an adequate infrastructure for the use and exploitation of the resources is important for the economic and social development of any territory. Faced with the constant increase in the demand for water and the excessive exploitation of underground reserves, coupled with the recent increase in vine production in Guadalupe Valley, new forms of intervention are emerging in the territory and it becomes necessary to change the forms of management and utilization of this valuable resource. This work presents a description of alternatives for the preservation of resources (water) and socioterritorial expressions (architecture) of the sustaina bility of Guadalupe Valley, in Baja California. To achieve this, the method of semi-structured interviews was used with the support of specialized literature and a survey of architectural representations. The main finding was a strong division between the actors of the sector (government producers and academia) to reach agreements and
make decisions. Finally, alternatives are listed as possible actions based on a favorable socioeconomic, natural and productive impact, since the sum of actions will provide the solution that Guadalupe Valley needs
