Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to examine the public policies related to tourism in Mexico and Brazil, two of the main tourist destinations in Latin America. To conduct this study, a qualitative, descriptive approach has been employed, providing a comprehensive overview of the situation and development of these policies in both countries. The results reveal that as the tourism industry has solidified in Mexico and Brazil, there has been a progressive development and strengthening of tourism policies. This has paved the way for the formulation of national-level strategies within the tourism sector. Ultimately, it can be concluded that public policies related to tourism have closely accompanied the national tourism sector in both countries, enabling the consolidation of projects, strategies, and actions. These initiatives are in line with the constant evolution of the tourism market at both the national and international levels and are tailored to the specific realities, capacities, and resources of the analyzed countries.
