Contemporary tourism through the urban interactions of the counterculture

Abstract

The social panorama of the world from the second half of the twentieth century brought with it the breaking of paradigms and beliefs that were sustained under the project of modernity and the industrial revolution. Europe was the first to show the decay of the modern project, the ruin appears with the decline of the industrial model and this will start new social movements that will try to adapt to change by establishing a found way of seeing and instrumentalizing the new reality. These times of change would be the scenario of the counterculture, this countercultural pattern has as main iconography the urban and industrial decadence. Contemporarily the so-called cultural tourism has underlined the evidence of the counterculture as an important trace of a historical event, mainly in Europe more and more evidence of the phenomenon appears. The present article tries to explore the low processes that occur this happening of our times.
