Abstract

The municipality Zacatlán of the apples is part of a group of towns situated in the State of
Puebla that have been recognized as magical towns since 2011. Within the process of
formation of the magical town of Zacatlán, there is a process of patrimonialization, that is:
it is endowed with patrimonial values in different spaces, things and places within the urban
space, which favors the touristification of the place, the city is reconfigured, which ends up
not being rescued for its conservation, nor promotion of the diversity of their customs and

native peoples, there is only noticeable work for tourist consumption that borders on the
massification of this activity. This situation is contradictory in relation to the objective of
the Magical Towns Program, which highlights that both the promotion, conservation and
dissemination of the cultural diversity of the magic towns of the country is a priority to
generate economic resources, and thus be able to promote development of the vulnerable
communities that inhabit the towns.
